Okaaay, so I’ve read the other reviews about the HEMA HX-2 & it’s evidently been given somewhat of a bad rap.
But you know what? I’ve given this thing a run for it’s money & formed my own opinion.
Beginning to think that other users are used to the good life & spoilt with instant speed & blessed with an “I WANT IT NOW!” Attitude…
It is true that it does take a little while to boot up, & there is a few seconds of lag.
But let’s take a few moments & put some perspective on that.
How fast are we traveling when where off road? If you miss a corner the perhaps you’re either going too fast, or not paying attention..
and really- it’s a self contained GPS unit without a subscription or registered SIM card (that I can tell) it runs well out of regular cellphone range.
The QuickStart Menu is simple to use & understand, its lightweight construction means it won’t jolt around on the mount.
WiFi connectivity helps with map & system upgrades from time to time & really? Other than being a bit slow to boot up & into the applications, I’d say that HEMA have delivered on their promise of quality.
But if you’re the type of person that has zero patience, then okay, spend the extra $2-300 on something that really just as good, but possibly quicker.
In the meantime, im happy with their product. 100%
Have had this unit for a while, Did have a problem with it freezing and support told me to send the unit back. Got the unit back from Hema and has worked fine ever since.
The NAV functions all work fine. Slowly getting to use the track & trip functions.
Purchased the unit from Anaconda on one of their special Deals , so the price was idea for me.
can get item hx 2 alot cheaper than that $110 less on other sites
It has dropped out on me twice but will keep an eye on it.
Traded my old Hema 1st gen GPS in for the new model HX-2. A bit more of a learning curve than the old one. There are some features which you need to hunt for, but overall quite a good product. The only issue I have with it is that if you have this plugged into the cigarette lighter charge Port, it will turn on when you use acc. on the ignition key. This is the case even when you turn the HX-2 OFF with the manual button on top. It should not “Auto” start under any circumstances. This needs to be addressed by Hema software developers. Cheers 👍 GG
