I had a HX1 which I loved, however after many years of use it died so I bought the HX2 - big mistake. Was so slow to do anything with even after factory reset. Took it back and got a refund.
I could not recommend this product. Recently returned from a trip to WA and the NT. The navigator kept freezing and did not know where I was for most of the trip. Fortunately I had paper maps.
You plan a trip and it ignores the route you have designated and takes you on a different route. Sending information to the cloud is a disaster, in the outback with very little internet connectivity it is hard to plan a side trip on the instrument. It is overly complicated to get it to work anywhere near how it should and most functions need to be turned off to do so. I had four discussions/arguments with technical support before leaving for my trip and still didn't solve most of the issues.
Using it around town is hopeless as it appears you can't type in a destination address.
It is supposed to be a navigator and it is trying to be everything to everybody.
The user manual is a waste of time and it requires an internet connection to do anything. Difficult in the outback.
In my opinion this product is verging on being dangerous as it is likely to take you down a dead end road, particularly in remote parts of the outback.
Vms 3d x is better
I love the concept of the map don’t get me wrong, but after having it for a I believe a year. The car charger doesn’t work, it lost my account and won’t let me re-register
It’s great how you can see free camping to off road maps etc, but some of those off road maps are people’s private property! I almost ended up with bullet holes! Thank god the farmer understood when I said I was following this map!
Hi Hema map team, I am using the HX-2 and always works good, we did an update yesterday (20/10/23) and our on-road map is not able to load anymore. It is very upset as we don’t expect Hema will let us down at the day our trip out. We bought the unit less than a year ago. Would you plz help to assist with the issue? Thanks.
